18k gold plating, 3 microns (gold version)
We chose 18k gold plating for its warm color and durability: a 3-micron layer of gold is applied to the piece by electroplating. This thickness, regulated under French law, is what sets gold plating apart from gold-flashed jewelry, whose layer is much thinner. 925 sterling silver (silver version)
This piece is made of 925 sterling silver, the benchmark precious metal in jewelry: 92.5% pure silver for a bright, luminous shine. The remaining 7.5%, usually copper, makes it stronger than pure silver, which is too soft to be worn every day. Over time, silver can develop a slight patina: a simple silver polishing cloth will restore its full shine.
